Macon Drive Basement Finish with Japanese-Inspired Details

Bold color, personal history, and a little hidden adventure make this basement anything but ordinary. Crafted transformed the unfinished space into a place for movies, play, and everyday enjoyment, with Japanese-inspired details that reflect the homeowner’s time living in Japan.

In the bathroom, our team built a custom shoji-screen-inspired door and installed custom tile in the bathroom and shower. Faux beams add depth and character to the movie room, creating a cozy setting for settling in with a favorite film. Beneath the stairs, a secret door leads to a child’s playroom—turning an easily overlooked space into a place for imagination.

Vibrant colors throughout capture the homeowner’s sense of fun and desire to live life fully. The finished basement gives them more room to enjoy their home, with meaningful details and playful surprises that make the space distinctly their own.
